✔ Self-managed

✔ Plan-managed

✘ Agency-managed (at this stage)

Self-Managed

Self-managed plans means you have the flexibility and choose to pick your services and providers to meet your goals. This gives you independence and empowers you to be in control. Since you are in control, you aren't limited to NDIA-registered practitioners or the NDIS' price limits per service.

Plan Managed

Your plan manager will act as a financial advisor and help secure appointments for you. You'll be limited to the payment rates set out by NDIS which may exclude some services (not at Body & Brain Centre).

Some plan managers include:

NDIS Dietitian

NDIS approved dietitians can help you with:

  • Tailored meal planning

  • Recipe ideas including ingredients & quantities

  • Forming shopping lists

  • Daily calorie requirements

  • Nutritional education

  • Weight management

  • Create positivity around eating & meal time

  • Optimising nutritional intake

  • Education and sourcing supplements

Our dietitians are experienced with:

  • Autism spectrum (ASD)

  • Brain injuries

  • Physical limitations impairing shopping and meal prep

  • Food sensory issues

  • Chewing and swallowing issues

  • Mental health concerns

  • Pre- and post-surgery

  • Gastrointestinal disorders

  • Allergies & intolerances

How does NDIS fund Dietetics?

Dietetics can be accessed under:

  • Core support: Improved Daily Living and

  • Capacity building: Improved Health & Well-Being

Depending on your plan, NDIS will cover the cost of your consultations as well as individualised meal plans, shopping lists and recipes.

Do you have Experience with Kids?

Yes! We have a family friendly clinic with drawing, toys and experienced practitioners. Our paediatric dietitians are parents themselves and are experienced with seeing kids.

Do you see Adults?

Yes. We help many adults to eat more nutritious diets and improved symptoms such as energy, bloating and bowel motions.

I can't attend the clinic, can I still see one of your dietitians?

Yes. We offer video-linked online appointments via our virtual clinic.

NDIS Chiropractor

Chiropractors can help with pain, mobility and tension.

Some examples might include:

  • Injuries

  • Coordination or movement difficulties

  • Muscle & joint tension from stress

  • Muscle tone

  • Changed sensations such as numbness or pins & needles

Chiropractors can help with a variety of treatment options - it's your chose how you are treated:

  • Adjustments

  • Massage

  • Cranial therapy

  • Rehab exercises & ergonomic set up

  • Laser therapy

  • Electrical muscle and nerve stimulation

  • Dry needling & cupping

  • Find out more about chiropractic techniques our team uses

Why don't support coordinators know about Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is accessible under "Assessment Recommendation Therapy or Training Supports - Other Professional". Since the NDIS don't have a specific line item for Chiropractic, and being a smaller profession, it's sometimes forgotten about.

If you love your chiropractor, or interested to try chiropractic for the first time, speak to your Plan Manager or us directly how to organise a consultation.

Who can see a Chiropractor?

Anyone can see a chiropractor. Sessions are tailored depending on your preference, condition and age. We'll give you options and ask you how you want to be treated.

We pride ourselves in having therapists who are at the top of their game and constantly up-skilling. We are experienced with treating kids, seniors and everything in-between.

NDIS Naturopath

Naturopaths are like your food, gut and inflammation detectives. They test, question and seek to understand the root cause - is there inflammation, genetic susceptibility to deficiencies or insufficient nutrition?

Our naturopaths help to:

  • Resolve chronic inflammation

  • Calm the nervous system

  • Improve nutritional intake

  • Find the root cause

Some conditions that our naturopaths see include:

  • Developmental delays

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Brain injuries

  • Neuro-degeneration

  • Intolerances & allergies

  • Hormonal health

  • Gut health

Does NDIS cover naturopathy?

Sometimes NDIS will cover naturopathy as self or plan managed. To approve funding, NDIS require a high level of evidence of effectiveness and that the use of naturopathy is reasonable and necessary for your individual case.

In order to apply for funding for naturopathy, you’d need letters of support including research. These letters are billed at an hourly rate and NDIS are unlikely to pay for them.

It’s best to speak with your support coordinator or NDIS directly to see if you are eligible for naturopath to be funded.

NDIS Acupuncture

Does NDIS cover Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine?

Yes - some people will be able to access Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine through NDIS through self or plan managed funds. Speak with your support coordinator or plan manager for assistance in arranging acupuncture support in your plan.
